Target Audience: Arrow of Light (5th Grade) Scouts, Parents/Den Leaders, and Troop 73 Scouts & Leaders
Event Overview
Join Troop 73 for the annual AOL Adventure Weekend (formerly Webelos Woods) at Camp McKee! This weekend campout gives Arrow of Light Scouts hands-on exposure to the Scouts BSA program and the patrol method in an outdoor setting.
Visiting Cub Scouts will work alongside Troop 73 youth leaders, practice outdoor scoutcraft, tour troop campsites, and experience what awaits them in Scouts BSA. Troop 73 youth will demonstrate outdoor skills, lead activity stations, and showcase troop traditions around the council campfire.

Friday, Oct 16:
7:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Arrival, check-in, and campsite / tent setup
8:30 PM: Leaders / SPL meeting & cracker barrel
10:00 PM: Lights out
Saturday, Oct 17:
7:00 AM – 8:30 AM: Breakfast & morning flags
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Morning Skill Stations & Adventure Electives (Fire building, knots & lashings, first aid, outdoor cooking, navigation)
12:00 PM – 1:30 PM: Lunch in campsites (Patrol Cooking)
1:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Afternoon Patrol Challenges & Troop Showcase
5:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Dinner & campsite downtime
7:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Campwide Campfire & Awards Ceremony
10:00 PM: Lights out
Sunday, Oct 18:
7:00 AM – 8:30 AM: Breakfast & campsite tear-down
9:00 AM: Scouts' Own Interfaith Service
10:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Closing flags, final check-out, and departure
What to Bring (Packing Checklist)
Uniforms: Class A and Neckerchief for travel, flag ceremonies, and campfire; Activity Uniform (Class B / Troop T-shirt) for daytime activities.
Sleeping Gear: Tent, ground tarp, sleeping bag (rated for fall temperatures), sleeping pad/cot, pillow.
Clothing: Layered clothing (moisture-wicking base layers, fleece/jacket, rain jacket/poncho, extra socks, knit hat/gloves for cool nights).
Personal Essentials: Flashlight/headlamp (with extra batteries), refillable water bottle, mess kit (plate/bowl, cup, fork/spoon), camp chair.
Toiletries: Toothbrush/toothpaste, hand towel, soap/hand sanitizer, personal medications.
Scout Gear: Scout handbook, notebook/pen, pocketknife (with Whittling Chip / Totin' Chip card).
Paperwork: BSA Annual Health & Medical Record (Parts A & B).
Meals & Logistics
Troop 73 Scouts: Camp cooking for Friday / Saturday meals and Sunday breakfast.
Visiting AOLs & Parents: Meals to be Provided by the Troop!
